Your Guide to Perfect Submissions for Fashions on the Field Digital Competition

The 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival is just around the corner, and we’re excited to launch the Fashions on the Field Digital Competitions, offering four incredible categories where fashion enthusiasts can showcase their unique style.

Whether you’re all about the perfect outfit, cutting-edge millinery, or bringing bold new designs to life, there’s a competition for everyone!

The competition kicks off online on the 5 September, giving you the opportunity to enter from anywhere in the world before the magic of the live event unfolds. Get ready to showcase your creativity, flair, and fashion-forward looks for your chance to make it to the Melbourne Cup Carnival stage!

How to Enter

Entering the Fashions on the Field Digital Competitions is easy! Here’s a quick guide to submitting your entry:

1. Choose your category: Whether you're entering Best Dressed or Best Suited (with up to four entries allowed in each), showcasing your talent in the Emerging Designer category as a design or fashion student, or aiming to leave your mark in the Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award, choose the competition you're looking to enter!
2. Submit your entry: Head to the Fashions on the Field entry pages when the competition opens to submit your entry. You’ll need to upload three high-quality photos of yourself in your competition look. Check out the below guide for taking the best photos of your outfit. For Emerging Designer and Millinery entries, you also need to upload your design portfolio and a video diary of the specific creation you wish to enter! 

1. Judging process: Our expert judges will review all entries and pick the digital winners for Best Dressed and Best Suited. The Emerging Designer and Millinery entries will be reviewed and finalists will be invited to present their design on course.
2. Get ready to walk the runway: If you're a winner or a finalist, you’ll receive an invitation to join us at the Melbourne Cup Carnival to walk the Fashions on the Field runway in the category of your choice for the overall category winner!
