HKJC WORLD POOL TROPHY
BEL MERCI (1) caught the eye first up off a long break in G3 company, her first run for Ciaron Maher having promised plenty as an early 2yo. She charged through the line from last, running the third-fastest last 200m of the day behind a very good filly in Alpha Sophie. Down the straight here suits and she should be fitter. WINTERY (4) narrowly beat Bel Merci home there in a good effort on speed. She'll be up there again and running another honest race. EDUCATED (6) is undefeated in two starts, resuming with a dominant win against the older horses first up at Cranbourne. She didn't beat any stars there but did it easily and looks set to measure up. HEADBANGER (10) destroyed her rivals at Cranbourne last time by eight lengths, albeit in moderate time against limited opposition. She might be ready to go on with it now. GWEN'S GIRL (8) has won two on the bounce and can measure up.
